A Haw Haw Haw

Lyrics from ZZ Top's La Grange

IT'S NOT WHAT YOU SAY; it's how you say it. The state of Texas figures into both Ray's & Jill's past. So when Ben, one of Ray's former students, was moving to Texas and wanted to visit Lead Graffiti and try his hand at printing via letterpress, we had some ideas.

Riffing on the opening vocals of ZZ Top's La Grange, we tried to mimic the growl of Billy Gibbons' voice with some beefy, overlapping type. We added a southern drawl in Texas flag colors and set it off with a blind debossed (printed without ink) lone star in the center, about two-thirds of the way down.

All that's left to do is grab your air guitar and make some music. You can almost smell the BBQ!
