For a number of years we printed the Metropolitan Opera's note cards that we designed. They were replacing a number of the chandeliers made with Swarovski Crystal and were selling the replaced parts in a bag made up of one of The Met's replaced curtains. We were asked to design and print via letterpress a certificate of authenticity that would go with each of the pieces which would sell for upwards of $2,000.
Honestly, these kinds of side projects we've gotten to do are more fun than doing the big jobs that bring in most of the money.
We loved our 4 years working with The Met.
They wouldn't let us take the pieces out of the building so we had to photograph it just sitting on the top of the glass display case. We then brought the digital file back and removed all of the background which was a surprising amount of trouble.
