H.N. Werkman / .918 Club / Lancaster, PA

October 20, 2018 Ray Nichols

⬆We’ll start with this production shot of Rose DiSanto in Werkman action showing the upside printing method used by H.N. Werkman.

With this workshop we passed 1,800 participants in workshops and studio tours over the past 10 years, though we didn’t really get very deeply into workshops until several years into our existence. We are trying to add more as we think our workshops, especially our Creative Letterpress ones, are pretty amazing experiences.

Profits from this workshop went to the .918 Club’s Building Fund. They are currently involved with renovations of a facility to house their collection and a place to have workshops, classes, tours and the like in Lancaster, PA. Ray is on the club’s Board of Directors.

If you would like to contribute to the building fund effort, and no amount is too small, please see this link.

We decided we would publish each of the workshop participant’s favorite and a couple of others that we thought were overlooked in the selection process.

It appeared that everyone had a good time.

And 4 others we think deserve some recognition.

This one may be Ray’s favorite overall. It looks like a typographic illustration of an internal combustion engine.

Yeah. Why not?

Yeah. Why not?

This bike by the numbers goes well with the train above. Love the idea of finding 2 uses for the number 7.
